A little more about me…
I turned 23 in May. Michigan State University is my alma mater (go green!). My life has drastically changed since I discovered strawberry matcha. So much so that I have a ranked list in my notes. Dill is something I simply cannot live without - you’ll be seeing a lot of it. If I’m ordering a drink, it is most likely bourbon-based. I know, call me crazy. I will not go to the movies without getting a slurpee, sometimes I even refill it out of the way out. My middle name is a palindrome - “hannah” to be exact. And I often find myself driving wherever the view leads me because a good sunset is something I cannot pass up.
Now that you know arguably some of the most important things about me, I’ll let you in on some details that shed a little more light about what I’m doing here.
For as long as I can remember I have been a creative body. Painting, designing, sketching, building, imagining, and innovating anything I can get my hands on. My mind was always motivated to take on a challenge whole-heartedly, and that’s what led me here. Well really, to 2019: this is when I became plant-based after experiencing countless months of stomach pain for what at the time was an unknown reason.
Fast forward, the reason was ~dairy~
Transitioning to a plant-based diet not only reversed this pattern of pain, but opened the door to a whole world of newness. Breakfast is no longer an over-easy egg on challah bread and dinner is no longer teriyaki salmon. Rather, three meals a day for 365 days a year meant a whole lot of brainstorming. But if you remember, I love a challenge.
My meals became my new creative outlet, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve been crafting recipes, experimenting with bold flavors, and testing my culinary skills for 4 years now. I invite you to take this creative journey with me, regardless of your dietary preferences. Explore my recipes, recreate them at home, share your food ideas and pictures with me, take my grocery lists with you next time you head to the store, ask as many questions as you can think of, and give me feedback, the good and the bad! Food is what you make of it, and I’m making mine for all of us to try!
