Hot Pepper Jelly Margarita

Ingredients

2 oz. tequila

.5 oz. cointreau

.5 oz. lime juice

.25 oz simple syrup

1 red thai chili pepper, finely chopped

1.5 tbsp distilled vinegar

1.5 tbsp granulated sugar

Directions

In a small saucepan, combine the chopped chili pepper, sugar, and vinegar.

Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens into a jelly-like consistency.

In a shaker or mixing glass, combine tequila, cointreau, lime juice, simple syrup, and the cooled hot pepper jelly. Stir with a cocktail stirrer.

Add ice, shake until well-chilled, then strain into a rocks glass. Enjoy!
